The 2020 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday, November 22.

The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual American music awards show, generally held in the Fall, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC when the network’s contract to air the Grammy Awards expired. It is the first of the Big Three music award shows held annually, the others being the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards\. Unlike the Grammys, which are awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the AMAs are determined by a poll of the public and fans, who can vote through the AMAs website.

The American Music Awards pays tribute to today’s most influential and iconic artists, and is one of the biggest music shows in the world and is seen in more than 160 countries. It honors artists in multiple musical genres, including Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, alongside awards for New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Tour of the Year, Video of the Year, Favorite Song and Artist of the Year.
